Drilling Department
Lead Driller
The Lead Driller is responsible for performing subsurface exploration duties using conventional drilling or in-situ testing techniques.
- Drilling may include auger drilling, mud rotary drilling, and diamond bit coring techniques.
- This is a full-time position for individuals who enjoy working outside and who possess a “can do” attitude.
Drilling Assistant
The Drilling Assistant assists the Lead Driller on construction site locations to perform routine testing for project documentation.
- This is a full-time position for individuals who enjoy working outside year-round.
- A “can do” attitude is essential!
Building Envelope Consultant—BEC
We are seeking a full-time Building Envelope Consultant in our Columbus, OH area.
Qualifications:
- Strong expertise in the Building Envelope, including building materials, glazing systems; insulation and air barriers; cladding assemblies; roofing and waterproofing systems
- Prefer two years’ experience in various Building Envelope related test methods

NDE Department
Structural Steel Inspector
GCI is seeking an experienced structural steel inspector to perform field observations and testing at construction sites throughout Ohio.
- The qualified candidate will have experience inspecting welded and bolted construction using VT, MT, PT, and UT inspection procedures.
- AWS or ICC certifications are a plus as is quality control and inspection experience.
Field Services
Field Technicians
GCI continually accepts resumes from experienced field technicians to perform field observations and testing at construction sites throughout Ohio.
- The qualified applicant will have experience testing soils, concrete, masonry and asphalt.
- ACI, ICC, and NICET certifications are a plus.
- Qualified candidates must have suitable transportation for use on construction sites. Employees are reimbursed for company mileage.
- Field technicians are based at GCI’s Columbus, Dayton or Youngstown office.
Geotechnical Engineering Services
Geotechnical Engineers
GCI continually accepts resumes from entry level and experienced geotechnical engineers. Qualified candidates will ideally have:
- BSCE degree (MSCE a plus)
- Have passed the EI (PE a plus)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the geotechnical or materials testing field
